In depression life has no real meaning, whereas in true happiness life is highly regarded,
honored, loved, and appreciated on all levels and truly treasured as God’s gift to the world. We are excited about life
and the unending possibilities that are always surrounding us. We are eternally grateful for our five senses as they are continually
reminding us of life’s greatness. We tune our ears to hear the sound of nature, to appreciate and be entertained by
the songs of birds, to hear the sound of water as it is flowing down the stream or as its waves are lapping against the beach.
We also appreciate hearing our own heartbeat and the heartbeat of others. We sensitize our tongues to taste the wonderful
spices from around the world in international food markets. We appreciate our vision. We now see vivid colors all around us
that were always disguised before. We know now that all the colors of the rainbow are always around for us to admire and reflect
our gratitude. We love our new sense of touch. We notice the warmth and the love of our loved ones as we are hugging them.
Our sense of smell is so magnificent. As we deep breathe outside, especially right after a hard rain, we notice a heightened
sense of beauty and life coming into our nostrils, filling our lungs with joy. ----Taken from the 12 Principles of Recovery
Chapter of Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. – TASK FOR THE WEEK: Start becoming more sensitive
with your senses and take time to notice more. Take some time to isolate your 5 senses and see what new things are coming
into your conscious awareness.
be able to see that spirituality is a very personal idea or concept, connecting to the Divine and experiencing the realms
that exist beyond the sensory world. You can see now that you don’t need to go through anyone or anything in order
to be spiritual. Religions are supposed to help you become more spiritual, but unfortunately these Spiritual Teachers, Leaders,
Priests, Imams, Rabbis, Reverends, Enlightened Ones, Sheiks, more often are concerned with uplifting their own “bottom
line.” Your religious path is the path that helps you become more spiritual, emotionally intelligent, independent thinking,
and empowered to make your own conscious choices for yourself, knowing that it is God alone that you have to answer to.
Spirituality says that even if you think you are limited and small, it simply is not true. You are greater and more powerful
than you have ever imagined. A great divine light exists inside of you and in everyone you will ever know in the future.
This light is evident more and more as we elevate our own spiritual consciousness. As our own light shines from within, we
notice it more in others. So please don’t mix the concept of spirituality with religion. There is a vast difference.
Spirituality is the willingness to be influenced by the attributes of God. And as you are allowing yourself to be influenced
by God’s attributes such as Creator, Generous, Love, Protector, Provider, etc., you are thus connecting to God and
allowing His Spirit to emanate from you. ----Taken from the Spirituality chapter of Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To
Your Child-Self. – TASK FOR THE WEEK: During your meditation sessions, notice God within you as you relax your
conscious mind and allow yourself to be led by your heart. You might notice your body shifting and your breathing pattern
changing. Who or What do you think is causing this within?? H-m-m?
